Prefontaine follows the life of running legend Steve Prefontaine. Pre's hard work and determination is obvious in this movie. And so is his vulnerability.

Without Limits

Rated PG-13
Directed by Robert Towne
Written by Robert Towne and Kenny Moore
Starring Billy Crudup, Donald Sutherland, and Monica Potter

Without Limits opens with the 5000 meter race at the 1972 Olympics. Steve Prefontaine had the determination to win, and the confidence that he could overcome more pain than his competition. Through the course of the movie we find out that it is not always the strongest will that wins a race. And this is something that Pre wouldn't stand for.

Pre ran every race like he had something to prove to himself and to the world. This movie captures Pre's hard work, emotion, and never ending faith in himself. The wonderful story that was Steve Prefontaine's life is illustrated in a way that helps the audience understand what drove him to be his best.

Pre's spirit inspires one to exceed the limits of running, life, or whatever other endeavors in which one can find meaning.
