Say Thanks

What you can do to say thanks to the folks at mredkj.com

This page has been archived

  • When: 2011-10-21
  • What: saythanks.html
  • Why: We haven't maintained mredkj.com much lately, and a lot of it, such as this page, is out of date.

As explained in the About Us page, mredkj.com is run by Eric, Matt, and Keith.

I (Keith) want to offer a few suggestions for those who would like to show their appreciation for something we may have helped with.

Constructive Criticism

Our feedback form can be used to asked questions or to simply say thanks, but we also welcome feedback with suggestions and corrections.

If you've found mredkj.com useful, you may have already bookmarked the site in your browser. That's good, but you may also want to save a link at one of the popular community bookmarking sites.

Then there are sites like digg, reddit, and shoutwire. These are community sites where people vote on submitted links/stories, and the most popular links work their way up to the front page. Usually what happens for sites like mredkj.com is the webmaster (e.g. me) submits a specific page, and the natural ebb and flow of users viewing the submitted links will determine if it's worth voting for. I've only once submitted an mredkj.com link to digg, just to test it out, and didn't make the front page. There are some webmasters that encourage their readers to vote for their links, including URLs to specific submissions, but there's something just not right about that. However, if you want to submit an mredkj.com page on your own, I'm okay with that.

Merchandise

One day at random, I sketched the mredkj mascot with no real intention of using it anywhere. But since then we opened a CafePress store, and threw the mascot on a few items. It won't make you any cooler to wear a mredkj mascot tshirt, and no one will know what it is, but at least the items don't have any pointless text on them. Hey, we didn't even put in the words "mredkj.com".
